What a surprise! Harlequin ladybirds have crawled in the hinge space of the spare bedroom window frame for winter protection. Notice the huge range of colour and spot variations.

    I have been reading one of the reasons they are successful is that they start hibernation later than our native 7-spots. I hope they make short work of any aphids in Spring!
