Dragos Gemelos – The twin Dracaena draco trees in Brena Alta, La Palma

The heavily bifurcated branches give an indication of the age

Of course there is a myth to go with the trees to do with brothers fighting (and dying) over a girl

Both roots and branches are entwined

Dragon tree seeds are burnished and made into rustic jewellery on the island

The trunks are pitted and as I looked up I could see bees swarming around the holes
This was wonderful. I was afraid the fence was going between the trees. Those seeds are interesting.
I see what you mean, but luckily they have only ring-fenced them as the houses around them have been extended. The seeds are indeed fascinating. The trees flower only intermittently (so the crop is high irregular), causing the branch bifurcation.
Fascinating trees, they make quite a statement.
They remind me of baobab trees when they are grow en masse in the landscape.
What AWESOME TREE!
It truly is!
Oh, that is very cool!
Yes … such a statement in the landscape
