Sadie paddling … sky or sea?

A sea here

The flowers are surprisingly sparse when you get near the field

I love all these photographs. It is such a pretty flower.
Thanks … I like the bright red one too for the garden.
I love seeing these in the fields.
They really show up in the landscape as you drive around … but not that many get planted up in Cambs.
Lovely shots. Sadie is in her element.
Thanks. Yes, she does like her walks over the fields.
Gorgeous. I used to keep flax in my garden but kept having to replace it frequently. Never would I have imagined a field of it looking this spectacular.
Thx. Seeing a whole field of flax is quite arresting, I think because its pale blue is so unusual in the landscape.
Almost as pretty as the bluebells!
I probably prefer the blue of bluebells, but the pale blue of flax really connects to wide open skies.
I once sowed flax on an area of garden to control weeds. It was a spectacular success as viewed from the window, and easy to eradicate afterwards!
What a great idea … a green manure like phacelia
Lovely photos. I want to grow it it my garden!
I’ve only grown scarlet flax in the garden, but I see that Chiltern Seeds sell the blue. Maybe next year then!
