How many people could resist putting a hand out to touch this little grass?

This is Bunny Tail grass (Lagurus ovatus). An easy-to-grow, annual little beauty. Seeds are easy to obtain (although its common name may vary) e.g. T&M call it Hare’s tail, Sarah Raven calls it Bunny’s tail, but you get the picture.

This clump of grass is growing in a pot I almost cleared of ‘weed’ seed in preparation for this year’s bedding. I am so glad that I left it!

And if you look closely at the tip, they are now beginning to flower: The flowers look like old-fashioned light filaments, glowing in the sunshine, suspended between the spikey fluff!
So sweet!
I’m going to keep my eyes open for that bunny! I think it should be recognizable by the tail!
Hard to spot in the field though!
<3!
Love this post, nice giggle for today!
It proved quite hard to find a rabbit image in just the right orientation for the tail!
Lovely! 😃
Amazing photos! The grass is so very beautiful!
Thank you Peter. It keeps me happy until pennisetum villosum takes over in the fluffy grass stakes.
Amazing how grass can be so beautiful. But is it as soft as a bunny’s tail? 🙂
If you stroke it in the right direction!
