Sempervivum in a Bulbasaur-shaped planter. The planter was a nod-to-the-past gift from my previously Pokemon-obsessed son.

FYI – Bulbasaur is one of the pocket monsters from the hugely popular Pokemon game. It is apparently born with a seed on its back, which gradually grows. Bulbasaur evolves into Ivysaur and, ultimately, Venusaur (when the plant blooms).
Cute! You’ve made me wish I knew more about the Pokemon. 🙂
Well, just so as you know … you can play it on your phone these days too. Helps get those steps in!
🙂
That’s pretty cute. My son was never in to Pokemon, but it’s nearly impossible to avoid knowing at least a little about them.
You got away lightly! They spent a fortune in pocket money on the cards … looking for the rare ones.
Haha – who thought they would get a lesson on Pokemon on what is esssentially a garden blog?! I love the idea of receiving it as a gift from your previously obsessed son – is he an adult now? My girls were the wrong generation – Care Bears, My Little Pony and Sylvanian Families…and whatever was in Kinder eggs at the time… 😁
Oops, I thought I replied to this. Yes, my son is in his twenties now and it is funny to watch him start to fill his house with plants too. We used to find that Kinder eggs were such good bribes when we were out or needed the kids occupied!
But expensive when they were trying to complete sets of things… 😉
