I think she’s just looking, waiting to see what turns up.
I’ve seen her around different fields a few times now, but I hadn’t registered that she was female until the day of this photo. It reminded me of the TV series called Detectorists, starring Mackenzie Crook and Toby Jones, that I loved for it’s gentle humour and (mostly) realistic finds: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detectorists
