I have our native Centaurea posted just now, so this is a wonderful complement. I never see them without thinking of my grandmother’s garden, although her ‘bachelor buttons’ were pink and white as well as this marvelous blue.

    • Yes, in those mixed pastel colours cornflowers really are the quintessential cottage garden flower. The blues ones seem to stand out and last best in my mixed herbaceous border. Your native Centaurea is very beautiful, elegant and intricate. 🙂
