Wordless Wednesday – Pot marigolds with élan!

I am trying Calendula officinalis ‘Neon’ this year and it is definitely living up to its description as being a ‘glowing orange’. Just look at that burn!

The flowers are a double form, with the petals edged in a highlighting burgundy.

Look how pretty they are with a little rain as decoration too!

I am also growing Calendula officinalis ‘Sunset Buff’ again.

Its petals are a lovely soft peach colour, with beautifully striated crimson undersides and a cheerful faint yellow glow towards the centre.

The flowers can vary between double and single forms, but I really love these simpler versions.

Wow, lovely! Especially Sunset Buff. 😃

I like the look of Sunset Buff too. It has an unusual form and the pale/dark colour contrast accentuates it, as does the angle you have chosen.

    That Sunset Buff is elegant.

These are both amazing. I do see the burn in that first image. Wow.

As I’m sure you’re aware pot marigolds are my favourite flowers, and these are two lovely varieties. I grow both, or similar, on the plot and especially like Sunset Buff. xx

very pretty, I like how the top layer of petals curl up

Very pretty, I esp. like the ‘Sunset Buff’ … you need sunglasses to look upon ‘Neon!’

Gosh, Neon is glorious, but I like Sunset buff too – will consider them myself for next year
