Help Wanted by Timothy Tocher
Santa needs new reindeer.
The first bunch has grown old.
Dasher has arthritis;
Comet hates the cold.
Prancer’s sick of staring
at Dancer’s big behind.
Cupid married Blitzen
and Donder lost his mind.
Dancer’s mad at Vixen
for stepping on his toes.
Vixen’s being thrown out—
she laughed at Rudolph’s nose.
If you are a reindeer
we hope you will apply.
There is just one tricky part:
You must know how to fly.
Love the poem! It reminded me of a quote I saw recently: Peter Pan said ‘The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it’. Happy Christmas!
🙂 Too severe .. never say never! Happy Christmas!
Lovely picture and poem.
Thanks, and for you too. xx
Thank you. Best wishes!
Happy Christmas xx
Thank you … and to you
Here’s hoping you fly through the holidays! The poem’s wonderful, and I hope your Christmas day (and the season beyond) are equally wonderful. Merry Christmas!
Thank you. Take care and best wishes for your Christmas!
Merry Christmas 🎄 love the poem!
😉 Suitably fun I hope! Have a lovely Christmas.
Thanks for the good wishes, Allison. The same back to you!
Cheers Eliza. Enjoy your revelries! Take care
What fun. I read the other day that reindeers are actually under threat because of climate change.
I hooe you are having a lovely day.
Thanks Liz. Hope you enjoyed your aristocratic, distanced Christmas dinner!
I just read that only female reindeer have antlers at this of year, so Rudolph’s gang are completely mis-cast!
What a glorious display that must have been to walk through, Allison! I had a good giggle at the poem! Hope you had just the right sort of Christmas for you 👍
The glasshouses at Cambridge Botanics are always good for a browse, but the suspended, colourful umbrellas were just right for Christmas. 😉
Happy New Year, Cathy!
Yes, I remember how much we enjoyed the glasshouses when we visited 3 years ago – but no umbrellas then!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Allison. May 2022 treat us all a bit better.
Thanks Steve! Best wishes for a brilliant 2022. I hope we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel now!
Yes, I certainly hope so. I also hope that light is not a train. 🙂
🤣
