Silent Sunday – The New Year, 2023

HNYsm

2023 started out mild and sunny here. This photo was taken on our New Year’s Day walk around the edge of Wimpole Estate, Cambridgeshire. Interestingly, the flatter ground seen towards the right of the shot shows an area of parkland that was used from 1944, for a couple of years, as a US Army hospital for WWII casualties.

There’s no point wishing that 2023 will stay mild and sunny! Wishing you health and happiness whatever the weather brings.

The day may have been mild and sunny, but that certainly looks like a winter sky. It’s a lovely photo, and I’m sure your walk must have been equally pleasant. Best wishes for the new year; if we’re lucky, it will tend a bit more toward mild and pleasant, too.

    • Thank you Linda! We are currently bathing in warm Atlantic air (from the Azores apparently), but with plenty of rain fronts sweeping through. Hopefully the rain is steadily replenishing the underground stores, so that we are ready for the coming summer heat.
