“One Christmas was so much like another, in those years around the sea-town corner now and out of all sound except the distant speaking of the voices I sometimes hear a moment before sleep, that I can never remember whether it snowed for six days and six nights when I was twelve or whether it snowed for twelve days and twelve nights when I was six.
All the Chrismases roll down toward the two-tongued sea, like a cold and headlong moon bundling down the sky that was our street; and they stop at the rim of the ice-edged, fish-freezing waves …”

Thanks, and for you too. xx
Cheers, best wishes for the New Year!
A Child’s Christmas in Wales is one of my holiday favorites. Happy Christmas to you and yours!
Ah, I discovered it this year when someone posted an extract that caught my eye. I love the original illustrations too!
I think your little robins are among the cutest birds in the world. I’m glad you included them in your greeting, and I’ll send my own good wishes for a fine Christmas celebration, and a wonderful new year.
Thank you. Our robins look super cute, but can also be vicious and territorial. However there is nothing nicer than watching them follow the gardener/the worms! They get very tame, this one was about 6 inches away from me while I was weeding at the back of the border.
